These rings feature an inlay of sandstone from the Entrada Formation, a geologic rock formation dating back to the Middle Jurassic period, approximately 174-145 million years old. During this time, southeastern Utah and parts of the Four Corners region were dominated by vast sand dune fields, while a shallow sea extended from the north into what is now northern Utah, creating tidal flats where silt was deposited. The sandstone in these rings originated from these ancient sand dunes and was collected from the Colorado Plateau region near Moab, Utah.
There are many stunning landscapes and landmarks throughout this area that are composed of Entrada Sandstone. This formation can be found in several national parks and monuments, including Arches National Park, Capitol Reef National Park, and Goblin Valley State Park. Its rich, reddish hues and striking formations have made it a defining feature of this region’s desert landscape. These rings allow you to carry a unique fragment of Earth's ancient history with you!

Merrimac Butte: a climbing area featuring soft sandstone about 12 miles northwest of Moab. It features trad routes including Without a Net (5.8), Keel Hauling (5.9+), and Ascent Into the Maelstrom (5.11) among others. It honestly sounds terrifying.
The Three Penguins: a very visible feature in Arches, it features the two-pitch trad route Right Chimney (5.10+)
Tower of Babel: a massive sandstone fin located just north of the Courthouse Tower. It features a classic aid route Zenyatta Entrada through a thin crack system
